Poll Watchers are appointed by the candidates. We will have several training sessions before the elections. Unlike Poll Workers , Watchers can work shorter shifts, "tag teaming" throughout the day. Our club will be training watchers who can volunteer in precincts other than their own. |

Poll Workers are paid election officials (about $125 for the day) who staff local polling places to carry out assigned Election Day procedures. They are appointed by a committee made up of the Sheriff, the Circuit Clerk and the Probate Judge. The prospective poll worker submits an application form to the committee. The committee reviews applicants and decides who to invite to attend a training session. There are 4 to 6 workers at each precinct, depending on the population.
